We Raised $1,700 for Anaya This month!

Have you ever met someone and walked away a changed person?  That’s how we feel about baby Anaya, a 20 month old angel who is fighting a rare disease called Krabbe Leukosdystrohpy.

Krabbe Leukodystrophy is a demyelination of the brain, due to a lack of a specific enzyme that helps to break down fat.  Babies with Krabbe develop normally for a few months, and slowly start to lose motor skills; plus the ability to hold their head up, speak, laugh, or smile. Eventually they lose their sight and hearing. The average life expectancy is less than two years.

Anaya’s mother Camara is unable to work and has been incurring many expenses related to the care of a terminally ill child.

To help, we raffled off $1,000 of massage in May.  Congratulations to Suzanna Rathburn, who won the massage!  On June 5th, we had a fundraising event at our spa were we had by donation wine and cheese, a silent auction, and an Anaya & Camara meet and greet.  It was a very lovely event, and we raised $1,700 for Anaya between the two events.  It has just been such a pleasure to have Anaya in our lives.
