Home Therapy - maintianing the benefits of massage and esthetic services.

In addition to regular massage or esthetic treatment, we recommend using some simple at home methods for maintaining the benefits of your therapies. Consult with your therapist about what you may need individually for your unique condition. Find out if there are any specific ideas they may have for you to incorporate into your daily life. Our therapists may have some unique information about what might be beneficial for you at this time.

After a massage
All massage increases blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. It is normal to experience a “detox” reaction that is an indication the body is releasing stored toxins. Drinking plenty of pure water after your treatment can help to alleviate these symptoms.

Deep tissue massage is intended to work the muscles with a greater amount of pressure. The residual pain after a deep tissue massage is typically a therapeutic response. For any massage soreness, try epsom salts in a hot bath, a hot water bottle on the affected area, or some simple stretching.

Aromatherapy massage incorporates aromatic oils applied to the skin. These oils gradually work their way into the body, exerting their effect over time. Above all, take time to relax after a massage. If you can, plan to have your feet up, or go on a gentle walk, a hot bath and a glass of wine, you may find that the pampering goes a long way. Better yet, come for a massage and stay for one of our signature organic botanical facials.

Care for waxing
Waxing can be easy on the skin if the right precautions are taken after your treatment. We use natural oils like grape seed and jojoba to nourish the skin that has had hair removed, and you can continue to do so at home. Other products of benefit are natural toners like witch hazel and rose water.

It is advisable to avoid hot showers and hot baths, including visiting the hot spring for the remainder of the day of service. Also, sun tanning is to be avoided if that area of the body will exposed to the sun. With this in mind, you can plan your visit to the spa accordingly.

A variety of cosmetics are contraindicated after waxing, so please don’t hesitate to call us if you are concerned about something in specific.

Maintaining a manicure or pedicure
We are pleased to offering in the future a variety of touch up polishes for sale. This is a convenient way to maintain your manicure or pedicure, without having to come in for the full treatment. Please inquire when you book your appointment to find out which colours we have available for retail.
